What we're about
What is this group all about?
I created this L2YL Meetup group in 2009 to bring together a diverse community of people to explore how to live more fulfilling, peaceful, empowered lives.
We started as a local in-person Meetup and are evolving into a vibrant global virtual community.
As group facilitator, I offer talks and practices based on ancient teachings and evidence-based science to support members in deepening self-awareness, navigating stressors, and committing to actions that lead to wellness, resilience and fulfillment.
Why is it important?
We live in an increasingly challenging and complex world, and staying deeply connected to each other as we navigate the unfolding of our lives is essential for our wellbeing.
And I’ve discovered that meeting virtually via Zoom is a powerful way to engage with interesting, like-minded people in deeply meaningful ways.
How can this group support you?
Whether you join us for weekly guided meditation or for a Community Connection meeting, you will safely engage with other members to explore what matters most…what does living a life with more joy, love, connection, impact, belonging, compassion, healing, freedom, ease look like for YOU?
As a L2YL member, you also have access to my courses and private coaching at a discount. There is currently a waiting list for private coaching. Reach out to me at sharon@sharonshelton.com for availability and a discount code.
How often do we meet and what can you expect when we do?
I now offer two ways to consistently engage with this community:
1) Weekly guided meditations (30min) - Monday mornings. I will offer a guided meditation + we will have a few minutes to check in about your practice.
2) Weekly Community Connection sessions (90min) - Monday afternoons. I will offer a talk and then invite members into a conversation about how to integrate beneficial ideas. Periodically I will also invite guest speakers to to share resources related to specific areas of interest (e.g. health, career, relationships, etc.).
What does it cost?
The guided meditations are donation-only, and there is a small fee to attend the Community Connection sessions. This enables me to commit the time and money necessary to maintain this community.
NOTE: There will be times when I am on retreat or traveling. Please check schedule for any changes.
What do we expect from L2YL community members?
Each time we meet, I ask members to commit to the following community agreements:
- Confidentiality - what’s said here, stays here
- Deep Listening - minimize multitasking while in community; offer the gift of your presence
- No Advice - share from your own experience; please don’t offer advice unless asked for
- Lean of Expression - let’s co-create space for all who want to share; be mindful of the essence of what you’d like to share
I also LOVE these Agreements for Multicultural Interactions laid out by the East Bay Meditation Center.
Also, please ensure your RSVP is accurate and up to date. If you plan to attend, indicate YES; if you do not, indicate NO.
